Move, breathe, and reconnect through gentle, mindful dance.
This free, welcoming workshop invites women to explore dance as a way to release tension, restore balance, and nurture emotional wellbeing. No dance experience is needed—just come as you are. Child-friendly, with refreshments and support provided.

What to expect:

• Gentle, grounding dance and movement practices to ease stress and reconnect with your body
• Fun and relaxing music to help you unwind, boost your mood, and activate “happiness hormones”
• Breathing techniques during dance to calm the mind and body—skills you can share with your family at home
• Letting go of burdens: guided visualization to release heavy thoughts back to Mother Earth and invite positivity into your life
Vision Board Crafting: create a colorful visual representation of your hopes and goals for 2026 using A3 paper, magazines, pictures, glue, scissors, paints, and crayons. This activity helps you focus on calmness, joy, and clarity for the year ahead

The atmosphere is warm, supportive, and culturally sensitive, with multilingual assistance available for those who need it.

Part of the Make Share Heal programme

This session is one of 11 monthly workshops in Make Share Heal—a 12-month wellbeing programme for women aged 18–49 in Pype Hayes, Birmingham. The project helps women strengthen wellbeing, build resilience, and brings togetherness through creativity and community. It warmly welcomes migrant women from Ukraine, Poland, and across Central and Eastern Europe, as well as local women, including those from facing life challenges, who want to find community and connection.

Alongside the workshop, participants can access optional one-to-one support and information on local services including housing, employment, mental health care, childcare, and community resources. Multilingual support is available.

The workshop is facilitated by Monika Lenard, an experienced women’s group leader with over 20 years of practice in creating safe, trauma-informed environments for personal growth and community connection. Monika brings compassion, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to helping women feel grounded, empowered, and supported. She weaves together circle dances, breathing techniques, traditional folk music, and creative arts, offering an inclusive experience shaped by cultural heritage and wellbeing.
