With it, there has been a rise in artists using their creative mediums to express themselves, their politics, and their opinions, while educating others on their socio-political situation. In an attempt to silence them, the world has also seen a distinct increase in clampdowns on artists by governments, militaries, and other oppressive forces. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\" class=\"\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\" class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\"\u003eBosla Arts shares the work and stories of artists facing oppression to stand in solidarity against efforts to silence them while upholding freedom of expression in general. The name “bosla” comes from the Arabic word for compass representing the unison of the founders’ nationalities (Egypt, UK),  while drawing on the 8 points of the compass as a symbol of our work - covering every direction of the world to show that art activism and its oppression is happening globally.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\" class=\"\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\" class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eTheir publications feature 7 artists for each issue who are using their work to subvert and confront oppression.
