Previously collaborating in the band Dragged Up Gichard’s debut recording Chins For Lefty is the band’s first musical statement. Recorded mostly at home in 2025, the recording was picked up by Night School Records before the group had even played live. The band presents a skewed universe populated by lyricist Lisa Jones’ outsider characters and moral dilemmas, shot through with an achingly funny and absurdist deadpan delivery redolent of the west of Scotland. Musically, Chas Lalli’s music direction channels the vision into lo fi, catchy chunks of cosmic, post-punk. “Gichard” summarises the group’s ethos - a made up name that sounds familiar but isn’t. Chins For Lefty was released May 29th on Night School Records.

Set apart in their own musical galaxy Birmingham's own tunemongering grinesters, The Courtesy Group, survive against fashion, mediocrity, systematic dullness and impossible odds.
Marmite to most musical confectionery, their debut album 'Tradesman's Entrance' and its successor 'Second City Liquor' have aired on BBC6's Stuart Maconie's Freakzone, Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service and Guy Garvey's Finest Hour (and many moons ago featured on The John Peel Show on Radio 1), as well as receiving glowing reviews from Mojo, Uncut, Louder Than War and Stewart Lee in 'The Sunday Times': live, they remain consistently dangerous and a robust antidote to a fully digitalised itunes world.

Moths of the Moon are duo Sam Owen and Max Simpson, vocalist/multi-instrumentalists from the band Pram [Domino Recording Company]

Their music occupies the darker, more haunted, fragile end of Pram's spectrum with music boxes, violin, flute, glockenspiel, toy accordion and ethereal vocals.

It makes nods to Hammer Horror, public information films, 1970s children's television and Eastern European surrealist cinema.

Their live performance marries unsetting monochrome projections with loop pedals, acoustic experimentation, sampled sounds and the vintage electronics of Omnichord, car boot Casios and air-synth.

with eclectic DJ sonics from Jim Smith (Nightingales)

https://centrala-cafe-shop.myshopify.com/products/07-11-26-centrala-presents-gichard-the-courtesy-group-moths-of-the-moon-dj-jim-smithnightingales
